Position Overview
As Senior Architect, you’ll oversee challenging retrofit projects ranging from urban commercial buildings to listed sites requiring careful yet creative solutions. Your day-to-day will involve coordinating and mentoring small teams, engaging with high-profile clients across sectors, and managing projects through each phase—from feasibility studies to completion. Reporting directly to practice leaders, you’ll be pivotal in shaping not just projects but wider urban regeneration efforts. Responsibilities:
Direct Client Engagement: Serve as a key contact for developers, REITs, institutional investors, and luxury brand occupiers.
Technical Leadership: Deliver retrofit solutions utilising Revit/MicroStation models while balancing form, cost, and performance.
Project Oversight: Independently lead and oversee projects ranging in value from ~£10M to £60m.
Team Leadership: Lead by example and contribute towards the development of junior talent, monitor outputs and ensure standards while fostering collaboration.
Strategic Insight: Tackle design challenges posed by complex, constrained urban sites and conservation areas.
Requirements:
Credentials: ARB/RIBA-accredited with 8+ years post-qualification experience.
Project Skills: Experience leading creative and technical delivery for complex retrofit projects.
Tech Proficiency: Fluency in Revit or MicroStation ideal with a strong understanding of building codes and sustainable design.
Interpersonal Strength: Skilled communicator with experience in stakeholder engagement and team dynamics.
