Position Overview

As Project Architect, you'll lead the delivery of high-end private residential projects, taking day-to-day responsibility for design excellence and technical coordination. This role offers the chance to help establish and grow the practice's residential offering, working closely with directors while maintaining the agility and ownership associated with a developing team. You'll manage client relationships, coordinate consultants and contractors, and mentor junior team members as the division expands.


Responsibilities

  • Lead high-end residential projects from concept and planning through to site completion

  • Manage day-to-day project delivery, ensuring exceptional design quality and detailing

  • Build strong relationships with private clients, consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers

  • Prepare planning applications, technical packages, specifications and construction information

  • Coordinate project programmes, deliverables and consultant input throughout the project lifecycle

  • Identify and resolve issues proactively across all RIBA stages

  • Support directors in establishing and growing the residential portfolio

  • Mentor and develop junior team members as the practice expands

  • Contribute to the wider design culture and development of the studio


Requirements

  • ARB-registered Architect with strong UK project experience

  • Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to high-end private residential projects

  • Experience delivering projects through multiple RIBA stages, ideally concept to completion

  • Strong design ability combined with excellent technical knowledge and meticulous detailing

  • Good understanding of traditional and contemporary materials, bespoke detailing and high-quality residential construction

  • Confident managing private clients and communicating with consultants, contractors and specialists

  • Strong knowledge of UK planning processes, Building Regulations and construction standards

  • Able to work independently, take ownership and make well-considered project decisions

  • Comfortable joining an established studio while helping build a new area of the business

  • Collaborative, commercially aware and confident in fast-paced environments

  • Proficiency in Revit a plus
