Our client, a design-led architectural studio in Central London, is seeking a talented and resourceful Part II Architectural Assistant to join their busy team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of stimulating projects, from new-builds to retrofits, in sensitive and heritage contexts.
Position Overview
As a Part II Architectural Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the studio's design-led approach. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including domestic, large-scale residential, and mixed-use developments. The studio is committed to your growth and development as a designer, encouraging your participation in design reviews and wider conversations about architecture.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design and development of architectural projects across various stages
Produce clear and well-presented drawings, models, and visualisations
Collaborate with project teams to ensure design intent is maintained throughout the project lifecycle
Contribute to design reviews and discussions, sharing ideas and insights
Conduct research and analysis to inform design decisions and solutions
Assist with the preparation of planning applications and building regulations submissions
Requirements
RIBA Part II qualification with at least one year of post-Part II experience in a well-respected, design-led architectural studio
Exceptionally clear and well-presented portfolio showcasing your design skills and experience
Strong graphic and written communication skills, with a focus on presentational clarity and rigour
Proficiency in 2D CAD software (MicroStation experience is a plus, but not essential)
Skilled in Sketchup and V-ray for 3D modelling and visualisation
Excellent post-production editing skills to create compelling visuals and illustrations
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining autonomy and effective time management
Good understanding of the UK planning system and building regulations
Experience working on projects between RIBA Stages 0-2+ (Stage 4 experience is a bonus)
Passion for design, a committed work ethic, and a desire to grow and progress within the field
