Position Overview
As a BIM Coordinator, you will work closely with Project Leads and Design Teams to establish project goals, processes, and workflows, ensuring the effective implementation and management of BIM throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for maintaining project BIM documentation, setting up models to ISO19650 standards, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and manage Building Information Models and associated documents.
Responsibilities
Support Project Leads and Design Teams in establishing project goals, processes, workflows, and BIM execution
Maintain and update project BIM documentation, including BEP, TIDP, and BRM
Implement the practice's Digital Standards across assigned projects
Set up project models in line with ISO19650 standards
Liaise with Client BIM Advisor and external Design Team BIM Coordinators for model coordination and management
Prepare federated models for coordination, perform clash detection, review, and assign issues
Lead project teams to produce COBie & IFC outputs and perform Quality Assurance Checks on BIM models
Implement modelling best practices to support 3D, 4D, and 5D delivery
Provide training and upskilling to project teams to support BIM delivery
Collaborate with the Digital Design Team to continuously develop, improve, and implement company Digital Standards
Provide technical BIM support to projects
Requirements
Minimum 2 years' experience as a BIM Coordinator within the UK commercial sector, preferably in a medium to large architectural practice
Proven ability to carry out the listed responsibilities
Strong understanding of British standards relative to the UK BIM Framework (ISO 19650, BS1192, BS8536) and associated standards
Experience implementing and managing these standards and their deliverables on projects
Minimum of a MA degree in Architecture or equivalent
Experience working in practice as an Architect/Architectural Designer with detailed knowledge of project processes, milestones, and deliverables, including BIM Coordination
Strong knowledge and practical experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and other BIM authoring applications
Proficiency in clash detection and issue management using Navisworks and other relevant applications
Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM360 and its collaborative processes
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
Knowledge and practical experience in Classifications & COBie using BIM Interoperability Tools for Revit
Understanding and skills in managing file exchange, uploads, and downloads within CDE
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
