Our client is a specialist residential architecture practice based in central London, recognised for delivering exceptional, bespoke designs for high-end private clients. They're looking for an Associate Architect to lead complex projects, manage small teams and act as a trusted point of contact for discerning clients. If you're an ARB registered Architect with proven experience running high-quality residential projects and you're ready to take on greater responsibility in a supportive, collaborative environment, this is an excellent opportunity to advance your career.

Position Overview

As Associate Architect, you'll take ownership of high-end residential projects from initial concept through to site completion. You'll lead internal teams, coordinate with consultants, contractors, interior designers and specialist makers, and ensure design intent is realised throughout delivery. This is a hands-on role where you'll balance creative problem-solving with technical delivery, managing budgets, programmes and client relationships. You'll work sensitively with heritage buildings and listed properties, attending site regularly and chairing meetings where required. Your role is central to maintaining the studio's impeccable reputation for excellence and delivering exceptional outcomes for ambitious private clients.

Requirements

  • ARB registered Architect with experience at Senior Architect, Project Architect or Associate level

  • Strong background in high-end private residential architecture

  • Proven experience running projects across multiple RIBA stages, particularly planning, technical design, construction and site delivery

  • Experience working on listed buildings, conservation areas or heritage-sensitive projects

  • Strong client-facing skills and ability to build trusted relationships with private clients

  • Demonstrated experience managing project programmes, deliverables, budgets and resources

  • Confident coordinating consultants, contractors, interior designers, suppliers and specialist teams

  • Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge

  • Experience attending site, reviewing progress and resolving technical queries

  • Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills

  • Proficiency in Vectorworks and/or Revit

  • Calm, proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving

Company Overview

Our client is a specialist architecture practice with extensive experience in high-end residential, hospitality and creative media design. They work with private clients globally on bespoke projects, many involving historic buildings and heritage properties. The practice is known for delivering innovative, tailored solutions that respect the history of buildings whilst meeting clients' unique requirements. With a team of approximately 10 talented architects from diverse backgrounds, they prioritise discretion, excellence and authentic design. Rather than pursuing public recognition, they focus on creating exceptional architectural outcomes and maintaining trusted relationships with their clientele. Their approach is collaborative and solutions-focused, with no two projects ever the same.

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours to support work-life balance

  • Generous annual bonus scheme

  • Healthcare plan

  • 20 days annual leave plus public holidays and complimentary Christmas closing

  • Two days per year for learning and development with £400 budget

  • Attendance at annual award ceremonies

  • Regular social events including team lunches, summer parties and annual team trip abroad

  • Free breakfasts and vibrant co-working environment with social amenities

Alongside this benefits package, you'll be immersed in a fun, sociable studio with talented colleagues from diverse backgrounds and fun, music and games in the office for those moments where its time for a break or even to celebrate together! The practice prioritises making work both enjoyable and fulfilling on a professional and personal level, offering clear career progression within a growing studio, and fostering a supportive culture where there is a wonderful balance between work and home.
