CENTRAL LONDON - UP TO £48k
This practice have recently gone through a rebranding after a period of unprecedented success and to mark their new stage of growth. Their presence is primarily in commercial fit-out/retro fit and commercial sector. Historically projects have hovered around the £1m-£5m mark, however, more recently the projects are now consistently between £5m-£10m. Projects are taken almost exclusively to CAT B and centre on Central London, although they have worked on projects further afield.
They describe their design ethos as a process of delivering projects that last and age well, sitting comfortably in their context. They take great pride basing their approach on well thought out designs that use quality materials and simple junctions.
Although they don’t have one single style, it is clear that they have a very clean and considered approach to design, making use of innovative spatial planning and very clever quirks to make the most of all the nooks and crannies of a space. Clients comment that they bring new life to buildings that they never believed were possible. One review of their work stated “This practice has a restrained palate with interesting idiosyncrasies!”
As a practice, they number 25 designers with three office support staff and use Vectorworks as their software of choice. It should be pointed out that they are very developed in the use of Vectorworks BIM and anyone who joins, will receive training.
As a culture, the office comes across as extremely flexible and open. They operate through the ethos that as long as the work is done, they don’t really mind when and how you do it. They do not believe in a culture of late working and have made it very clear that aside from the odd deadline. They have a very inclusive and open culture in the office and you will be supported throughout your time with the business.
The aforementioned practice is looking for an ARB registered architect with circa 4+ years’ experience. There is a gap in the office between the associates and more junior architects when there needs to be a safe pair of hands with good project running experience. Although the practice usually employs all-rounders, the initial need is for an architect who is technically very strong. You should feel comfortable about managing RFI’s, site visits and able to work with all stake-holders whether on site or through correspondence. Ideally you will have commercial fit-out experience and comfortable on all the challenges that arise on site. The project is to initially work on a c£8m project which is at stage 3+ and you will help lead this project through the tender stages and into delivery. Lead times are usually very fast and as such you can expect to work on numerous projects in a year.
