A wonderful medium sized architecture practice with a number of awards to their name and a beautiful, spacious studio overlooking the river is looking for a talented Architect with experience in Education and Social Housing projects to join their team.
At the forefront of their ethos is ensuring their designs and proposed methods of construction respond actively and positively to the climate and biodiversity emergency. Their mission is to discover inventive and purposeful methods of designing beautiful, engaging and functional buildings for learning and living through sustainable means. Measuring their carbon footprint annually, they are dedicated to ensuring they continue to decrease and minimise their carbon footprint year on year.
You will be working alongside a lovely, diverse and dedicated team that share a bigger purpose with their contributions reflected through their exceptional work across a range of education projects at all tiers, from primary and secondary to university and special needs schools. Alongside education projects, you will also be involved in various masterplanning and social housing projects providing you with a genuine opportunity to make a positive contribution to both wider society and the environment Another thing you can certainly be assured of is the satisfaction you will receive from both designing and delivering the projects that you work on over a relatively short period of time, the practice boasts an impressively fast turnaround of projects.
Required Skills and Requirements
Minimum 3 years post Part II experience in practice
Experience in designing for the Education & Social Housing Sectors
Excellent Revit skills
Good Hand-Sketching Skills
Excellent visual presentation and graphic skills
Previous experience coordinating with large stakeholder groups
Good understanding of sustainable best practice
Good timekeeping skills
Ability to work well as part of a larger team as well as independently
Previous experience preparing planning applications for similar projects
Previous on-site experience highly beneficial
Good written and oral English language skills
Excellent attention to detail
A genuine passion for impacting people’s lives through responsible and inspiring architecture
General Information & Perks
Working Hours: 9:30-6pm
Holiday: 20 days + 8 days bank holiday + Xmas Shut Down
