A practice based in Farringdon are looking for an experienced architectural assistant to join the team. Formed in 2018 the two founders, building on their years’ of experience, have created a practice that is already making waves in the world of architecture.

You will initially be working on a new residentially led, mixed use scheme in West London. You should have at least 2 years of post-part II experience. It is crucial that you have an exceptional portfolio. Ideally you will be someone with an ability to present with clarity and rigour in your drawn and written work. The way you present your portfolio should be aesthetically pleasing. It would be beneficial that you have experience in larger scheme residential projects, but if you are a fast learner with skills in other sectors that you can bring to bear on residential projects, that would be considered too.

This project is part of a wider masterplan of which they are developing one large building within it. The big plus is that it is guaranteed to go through to completion. This means that anyone joining (currently at stage 1) will be able to work on the project from start through to completion. The client is hoping that the planning application will be submitted by January 2022, straight in to stage 4 and ideally going to site a year from now.

Ideally you will be able to use Microstation but if you are happy to learn this software that also fine. Perhaps the most important software in this role is the ability to use SketchUp and as a plus V-Ray, since you will be tasked with post-production editing.

Since the practice is smaller (8 people) and growing, they desire someone with the self-discipline to work on a variety of projects simultaneously, all the while retaining a grip on detail and effectively managing their time. You should have a working understanding of the UK planning system, and have project experience between RIBA Stages 0 and 3. Some RIBA Stage 4+ experience would be a bonus.

They are a growing studio with a range of stimulating work, including new build projects and renovations, extensions and additions to buildings in sensitive contexts, and from small scale domestic to larger scale residential and commercial work. However, whatever the project type, we always place high quality design at the forefront of our activity.
