BOLD & CREATIVE EXPERIENCED / SENIOR ARCHITECT

CAMDEN, £42-£48k

Carving cleverly harmonious links between old and new working within historically sensitive sites, this multi-award-winning practice is one the UK’s leading practices renowned for their incredible work across the residential, commercial, civic, and cultural sectors. They are now seeking a bold and creative, highly talented architect to join their 70-strong team.


Their projects are wonderfully expressive and contemporary, characterised by a considered appreciation for beautiful natural materials, form, technology, and craft. From furniture commissions and private homes to gallery spaces and half-a-million sqft. commercial buildings, you will be involved a range of projects all at different scales, but each driven by the same intimate, research-driven and considered design process.


You will be working as part of team on multiple prestigious projects and as such, you should be comfortable in successfully coordinating and engaging in design team interaction, communicating considered design ideas to a range of audiences and possess the confidence and experience to resolve construction challenges. Previous UK construction experience working across various typologies, offices, mixed-use and residential, is highly desirable. You should also have excellent detailing skill as detailed design will form a considerable part of your responsibilities in taking projects through to site and successfully coordinating the construction process through to completion.


Required Skills/Experience

  • ARB registered (or overseas equivalent)

  • 3+ years’ post Part III Experience working on UK projects

  • Previous experience working on high-quality mixed-use, residential and / or commercial projects

  • Strong technical expertise and knowledge of various construction methods

  • Proficiency in MicroStation

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • BIM (Revit) experience beneficial

  • Experience in design team coordination and client liaison

  • Previous evidence of research-led, innovative schemes highly advantageous

  • An excellent eye for detail

  • Appreciation for contemporary design aesthetics (elegant forms, discrete details, natural, enhancing materials)

The practice provides a fantastic resourceful work-environment with a strong socials programme including regular social events including Friday socials at 5pm, off-site winter and summer parties, internal skills sharing workshops, organised team sports, communal lunch days and overseas study trips.


General Information & Perks

  • 23 days holiday (incl. 3 days over Christmas) + Bank Holidays

  • Working hours are 9:30am to 6pm

  • 20 days holiday increased to 25 after two years continuous employment + bank holidays

  • Additional days leave gifted to cover the studio closure over the Christmas period

  • Generous percentage profit-share scheme (often £3k+ after one-year continuous employment)

  • Employer pension contributions
