Working closely with a highly design-focused team, you'll support and lead planning applications for warehouse and logistics schemes, bringing technical expertise and sector knowledge to early-stage projects.

Your role will be to ensure schemes are viable and well-resolved from both a logistics and operational perspective, whilst helping elevate the quality of industrial architecture through considered, design-led approaches. This is a foundational hire with strong long-term progression, offering the opportunity to grow into a leadership position and build an industrial team within the studio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support planning applications for industrial and logistics schemes, ensuring technical rigour and design quality

  • Apply specialist knowledge of warehouse design, including mezzanine strategies, volumetric planning and operational layouts

  • Analyse vehicle movement, turning requirements and site logistics to inform viable scheme development

  • Serve as the technical backbone on projects, resolving complex building performance and operational requirements

  • Collaborate with the design team to elevate industrial architecture through considered, thoughtful approaches

  • Contribute to early-stage client conversations, building credibility and understanding of sector-specific needs

  • Support the growth of a new industrial and logistics team within the practice over time

Requirements

  • Qualified architect with demonstrable experience at Project Architect level

  • Strong, proven experience delivering industrial, logistics or warehouse projects from concept through planning

  • Solid understanding of industrial building layouts, mezzanine design and building servicing requirements

  • Knowledge of vehicle movement analysis, turning heads and site logistics planning

  • Experience leading or supporting planning applications and early project stages

  • Strong technical ability with meticulous attention to detail

  • Comfortable working within a design-led environment without needing to lead concept design

  • Ambitious, adaptable and genuinely interested in developing a new sector within a practice

Desirable Experience

  • Experience on large-scale distribution centres or major logistics projects

  • Exposure to data centre design and requirements

  • Demonstrated interest in progressing into a leadership or mentoring role

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with performance-related Christmas bonus

  • Flexible working arrangements including remote working on Wednesdays and flexi Fridays

  • Generous pension scheme

  • Genuine career progression without ceilings, with clear opportunity to develop into a leadership position

  • Mentoring and support to build sector expertise and grow the industrial team

Alongside these benefits, you'll be part of a collaborative, design-focused studio where creativity and technical excellence drive every project. You'll work alongside a talented team that values ambition, continuous learning and camaraderie, in an environment where your contributions directly shape the practice's future direction.
