Company Overview

This is a well-established architectural practice with a strong reputation for thoughtful, crafted design across residential refurbishments, private housing schemes and cultural projects. Founded on principles of collaboration and technical rigour, the studio has grown to a team of nine people who work closely together, balancing strong conceptual design with the practical realities of UK planning and buildability. The practice is known for delivering projects end-to-end with genuine commitment, from intimate private residences to multi-unit residential developments and publicly-focused cultural spaces. The team values continuity, mutual trust, and individuals who want to become long-term members of a growing studio rather than moving frequently between practices.

Position Overview

As Project Architect, you'll oversee a diverse portfolio of projects at various stages, including high-end private residential schemes, mid-scale residential refurbishment, multi-unit residential development, and a recently secured major cultural project involving interactive public-facing spaces with strong interiors and technical coordination.

You'll lead project delivery from planning through completion, ensuring design integrity and technical accuracy whilst navigating UK planning regulations and buildability considerations. This role offers genuine responsibility and the opportunity to mentor junior team members, contributing directly to the studio's design ethos and collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring design integrity, technical accuracy and compliance with UK planning regulations.

  • Mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive studio environment.

  • Manage project delivery across residential and cultural schemes, balancing conceptual design with practical implementation and buildability.

  • Coordinate technical documentation and navigate planning processes to bring projects to completion.

  • Collaborate with the wider team to contribute to the studio's design approach and project success.

  • Support the studio's commitment to delivering high-quality, crafted architecture across all project types.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Architect with demonstrated end-to-end project involvement across residential and/or cultural projects.

  • ARB registration or equivalent professional qualification.

  • Strong technical proficiency and thorough understanding of UK planning regulations and buildability considerations.

  • Experience mentoring junior architectural staff and supporting collaborative team environments.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across disciplines.

  • Design-led approach with commitment to delivering high-quality architecture and technical excellence.

  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK—we are unable to consider applications that require visa sponsorship.
