Position Overview
As Project Architect, you'll lead technical delivery and project progression, supporting the directors in translating strong design ideas into well-resolved, buildable architecture. This role focuses on RIBA Stages 3 and 4, with exposure to Stage 5 where possible. You'll produce and coordinate detailed technical packages, support planning submissions, liaise with consultants and contractors, and mentor junior team members. This is a hands-on position emphasising problem-solving, technical confidence and delivery across a mix of project types.
Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to RIBA Stages 3 and 4, with exposure to Stage 5 delivery where possible
Produce and coordinate detailed technical drawings and construction information packages
Support planning submissions and ensure technical compliance with UK building regulations
Liaise with consultants, quantity surveyors and contractors on project delivery
Review costs, valuations and buildability alongside the wider consultant team
Mentor and support junior members of the studio team
Translate design concepts into resolved, buildable architecture across residential, housing and cultural projects
Work collaboratively with directors and the wider team to progress projects through all delivery stages
Essential Requirements
Strong experience delivering RIBA Stages 3 and 4 on UK-based projects
Solid understanding of UK building regulations and planning processes
Proven ability to produce and coordinate detailed technical drawings
Confidence working in a small, collaborative studio environment
Willingness to work full-time from the office
Long-term mindset – looking to stay and grow with the practice
Desirable
Exposure to RIBA Stage 5 or site-based experience
Experience on residential refurbishments or housing schemes
Experience coordinating with quantity surveyors and contractors on smaller projects
