Position Overview
As an Associate Architect, you'll lead the delivery of bespoke architectural projects across the practice's core sectors, managing projects from initial concept through to completion.
You'll work on complex schemes involving listed building conversions, sensitive heritage transformations, and high-specification residential developments. Your role will be central to maintaining the practice's reputation for exceptional design and client service, working closely with private clients, developers, and planning authorities to deliver innovative solutions that exceed expectations.
Responsibilities
Lead and deliver bespoke architectural projects from concept to completion, managing timelines and budgets across prime residential and hospitality sectors
Apply specialist expertise in the sensitive transformation and conservation of listed buildings and heritage properties
Develop innovative, high-quality design solutions that respond to site context and client requirements
Cultivate and maintain strong, discreet relationships with discerning private clients and leading developers
Navigate complex planning applications, particularly within Central London and the Home Counties, demonstrating expertise in heritage regulations
Prepare detailed design proposals, planning submissions, and technical documentation
Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to deliver integrated design solutions
Mentor junior team members and contribute to the practice's design culture and standards
Requirements
Substantial post-Part 3 experience in prime residential and heritage architecture
Proven expertise in UK planning regulations, particularly for listed buildings and heritage conservation
Strong understanding of building conservation principles and sensitive design approaches
Demonstrated ability to deliver bespoke, high-quality architectural solutions
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders
Client-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills and discretion
Proficiency in relevant architectural software and CAD packages
Collaborative team player with a passion for design and project delivery
RIBA membership or eligibility to progress towards chartered status
