We’re working with a London architecture practice that’s quietly expanding, refining its structure and strengthening its leadership. They’re now looking for an Associate / Team Leader to guide project teams, mentor colleagues and play a key role in how the studio develops as it continues to grow.

The role suits someone who enjoys both the creative and managerial sides of practice: leading teams, maintaining oversight, and helping to shape culture in a collaborative, design-led environment.

Position Overview

The Associate will oversee several live projects of varying scales, scopes and stages, across housing, mixed-use and commercial sectors, from major residential developments to carefully detailed refurbishments and bespoke fit-outs. You’ll balance design oversight with delivery strategy, working closely with the Directors to manage resources, quality and team development.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys staying close to the work while contributing to studio direction. It would suit a steady, capable individual who values responsibility, enjoys variety with an ability to adapt and be flexible, and works well in a collaborative team culture and a healthy, transparent working environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a small group of project teams at different stages

• Provide mentoring, design guidance and delivery oversight

• Maintain strong client and consultant relationships

• Support programming, resourcing and quality control across the studio

• Collaborate with Directors on growth, team structure and business strategy

Requirements

• Proven experience leading projects from concept through to completion

• Strong technical understanding and delivery experience (residential and commercial)

• Confident managing multiple teams and workloads simultaneously

• Supportive, calm leadership style with clear communication skills

• Comfortable in a design-led but pragmatic environment that values collaboration and initiative
