Position Overview
You'll join a collaborative architectural team delivering large-scale residential and mixed-use projects at RIBA Stages 2 through 5, including Building Safety Regulator Gateway 2 submissions. Reporting to an Associate or Director, you'll lead internal design teams, coordinate with multidisciplinary consultants and contractors, and ensure projects meet the highest design and technical standards. This role offers genuine scope to develop your project leadership skills whilst contributing to schemes that make a real difference to communities and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Lead architectural design teams on complex residential and mixed-use projects across all RIBA work stages
Manage project delivery from feasibility through technical stages, ensuring compliance and quality standards
Coordinate with clients, consultants and contractors to align project objectives and resolve technical challenges
Prepare and oversee technical delivery drawings, specifications and Building Information Modelling documentation
Manage planning consultations and community engagement activities with confidence and professionalism
Prepare Gateway 2 applications and submissions to the Building Safety Regulator
Ensure projects comply with Building Regulations, the London Plan and Nationally Described Space Standards
Mentor and support junior designers within the project team
Contribute to design excellence whilst maintaining commercial viability and buildability
Requirements
ARB registered architect with professional experience delivering large-scale UK residential or mixed-use projects
Proven job running experience with the ability to lead internal project teams
Working knowledge across all RIBA work stages, predominantly Stages 2 - 5
Confident in direct liaison with clients, consultants and contractors
Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, the London Plan and Nationally Described Space Standards
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
Strong design and technical skills with demonstrated experience in architectural practice
Experience in planning consultations and community engagement
Knowledge of current building safety legislation relating to fire safety design and Gateway procedures
